VanArts is proud to present a Masterclass in Animation & Story Development with instructors Story Artist Matthew Luhn and Animator Andrew Gordon, both from Pixar Animation Studios!

This exceptional 2-day event takes place in Toronto on June 18/19th, and offers participants a rare and exciting opportunity to learn from the industry's top talent. This class has toured the world, with this being one of only two North American stops in 2010 (Toronto and Vancouver). It was recently in London (UK), and here's what participants said.

Geared toward experienced animators, students and animation enthusiasts alike, the skill sets covered are not software-specific. Lectures are organized with visuals, including live-action and animated clips, and supplemented by a printed handout. This masterclass provides you with the tools needed to create your own stories and feature-quality animation -- plus offers a great opportunity to meet and network with others in the industry.

For those of you who are on the Canadian west coast (and any others who are travelling there at the beginning of March) 3vis, in collaboration of Autodesk, Craft Animation and Seven Group, is hosting a great event on March 3rd in Vancouver geared towards the local 3D community.  We are calling it “An Evening with Duncan’s Brinsmead’s Brain” and it is very similar to some amazing events that we have already run in Toronto and Montreal.  This will basically be a user group that has the exclusive participation of Duncan Brinsmead, who is the Autodesk Maya principal scientist.  For those of you who have seen Duncan present before (perhaps at Siggraph), you know he is truly amazing.   For those of you who have not however, you are in for a real treat!   The event will also feature Louis Marcoux,  a Solution Specialist in 3D animation and Visual Effects who will discuss and demonstrate the newest features of Autodesk® Maya®, Autodesk® 3ds Max® (including the new plug-in CAT) and Autodesk® Mudbox™.

Any and all of you are welcome and it would be great if you could forward the invite and information to the artists and staff at your facility.  It’ll be a pretty cool presentation, along with lots of food, drink and prizes, and we’d certainly love to see as many folks out as possible.

We do ask that folks RSVP (http://www.3vis.com/enCA/evenements) just so we can keep an eye on the numbers.
