Our South Pasadena (Los Angeles) based VFX studio seeks an experienced mid to senior level Systems Administrator ideally with VFX or Post Production experience. This individual will report directly to the CTO and work alongside our pipeline and editorial teams locally and remotely to our global offices. 

Primary Responsibilities

- Design, implement and maintain server, storage, render, workstation, backup, archive, and network infrastructure across mixed hardware and software platforms
- Provide advanced technical support
- Respond to technology related incidents such as power and cooling issues
- Technical Documentation


- Required Advanced knowledge of Windows workstations and servers (Windows 7, Server 2012 R2, Active Directory)
- Required Advanced knowledge of Linux
- Advanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills
- Advanced knowledge of media storage
- Advanced Networking skills including LAN/WAN/DNS/DHCP/CIFS/NFS
- Experience with Configuration Management Tools (Puppet/Chef/Ansible/Salt), and preferably having some experience using any of them with Windows workstations
- Experience with Package Management Tools (Apt/Yum/Chocolatey)
- Experience with Adobe, Autodesk, Foundry and other VFX software
- Experience with virtualization
- Advanced data management skills
- License servers (FlexLM, RLM)
- Render farm management (Deadline/Smedge/etc)
- Scripting experience (Python/JS/Bash/Powershell/etc)
- Database (SQL/MongoDB/etc)
- Backup and Archive systems including tape libraries


- 5+ years sysadmin experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related discipline preferred
- VFX or Post Production experience preferred

Other requirements

- Ability to lift heavy objects, at least 25lbs
- Passport is a bonus. We have offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Vancouver, Toronto, Malta, Germany and Dubai.
