Systems Administrator / DevOps position

The job requires someone who is able to manage, support and improve as well as work actively with the development team to roll out new technologies and make them work well with the current infrastructure.

The IT infrastructure relies heavily on in-depth knowledge of Linux-based operating systems as well as established open networking standards as well as how they interact with more common off the shelf systems (Windows, Mac OS X).

An essential part of the job is the ability to quickly adapt to new challenges, ability to troubleshoot and research emerging technologies and at the same be available to support technical as well as non-technical users perform their duties.

The ideal candidate is a confident, self-sufficient, well-rounded systems generalist with in-depth knowledge of how to manage a heavily Linux based facility. 

Knowledge of most of the following technologies essential:

• Common Networking Services DHCP / DNS / SMTP / VPN
• Lower level networking knowledge (VLAN/Trunking/routing)
• LDAP authentication and integration
• Filesystems and storage (XFS, LVM, HW/SW RAID)
• Networked storage (FC, NFS, CIFS)
• Fluency in at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, Bash etc)
• Virtualization (KVM, Xen etc)
• Automation tools (kickstart, autoyast, puppet)
