MYTH IMAGE was founded in 2016 with a global network of studios in Beijing and Los Angeles. Leading with an Academy Award winning visual effects supervisor, our team provides client-side visual effects and post-production services for VFX heavy films. 



The Technical Support/IO role will be based in our Los Angeles office and is central to the daily performance of the company’s computer systems including monitoring renders, providing frontline support to Myth Users,?monitoring disk utilization, performing backups/restores, and handling studio incoming/outgoing data transfers. They will work with the Director of Systems, the Director of Pipeline and the Lead Systems Engineer to identify and prioritize system requirements to enable Myth Artists to work effectively with minimal downtime or?disruptions. 

In addition, Technical Support/IO will be proactive in researching, analyzing and recommending new solutions to create efficiencies and improve studio operations. This position will also provide technical assistance and support to Myth Users with hardware?and software questions. 


  • Monitor studio resources, including disk space and render farm utilization 

  • Act as front-line technical support for Myth Artists including licensing 

  • Preliminary troubleshooting and escalating to appropriate departments as needed 

  • Onboarding and offboarding of Myth Users 

  • Manage incoming/outgoing data transfers between remote locations and vendors 

  • Process incoming/outgoing data, including organizing, renamingtranscoding, database registration and watermarking 

  • Troubleshoot and correct failing render or IO tasks 

  • Assist in documenting procedures; make recommendations and enhance procedures to increase productivity, organization and efficiency 

  • Provide input into technology improvements in efficiency, reliability and performance 

  • Periodic archiving of project data at key production milestones  



  • CS degree or equivalent experience 

  • Familiar with Linux/Unix (proficiency with basic shell commands, tools and processes) 

  • A basic understanding of film imagery, formats of image files and codecs 

  • Knowledge of remote access protocols (PCoIP, VNC, NoMachine, RDP) 

  • Familiarity with one or more industry file transfer solutions (aspera, signiant, ftp/sftp) 


  • Exposure to render management/queue solutions (Deadline, Tractor, QubeOpenCue, etc.) 

  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting VFX software packages (Maya, Nuke, Houdini, etc.) 

  • Scripting language experience (Bash, Perl, Python) 

  • Experience with production tracking systems (Shotgun/Shotgridftrack, NIM) 



  • Must be able to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude under pressure 

  • Excellent troubleshooting and time management skills 

  • Excellent communication skills and ability working with various levels of technical proficiency 

  • Desire to provide excellent customer support in a production environment 

  • Excellent documentation skills 

  • Interest in computer animation and visual effects
