Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide hands on support and leadership in the implementation, maintenance, support and/or conversion of information systems including networks, storage, and post production IT services.
• Formulate procedures, standards, and engineering guidelines in concert with technical and production management.
• Maintain and provide feedback on improvements for policies, processes, and procedures for infrastructure management.
• Monitor network, compute, storage capacity and utilization. Recommend required actions and workflows.
• Create project-based written design specifications and implementation plans where appropriate.
• Maintains efficient customer relations between engineering and both internal and external FotoKem customers and vendors.
• Provide excellent customer support.
• Must be able to work off shift hours and be available to be on-call when needed.

Education, Experience and Skills:
• 5+ years hands-on experience configuring and maintaining computers, network, storage and software in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of networking technology including: TCP/IP, firewalls, switches, routers and network management tools such as Orion, SNMP, WireShark.
• Strong knowledge of file sharing technology and systems including EMC/Isilon, StoreNext and using NFS, CIFS, DLC and fiber-channel protocols.
• Design experience in network planning to allow scaling existing systems to meet future business needs in a multi-location, multi-protocol environment.
• Experience with a wide array of networking equipment desired, including Altera, Extreme and other major vendors.
• Proven experience with high-end computer architecture, multi-processors and GPU clusters
• Operational knowledge of journaled and log based filesystems, high-availability environments, familiarity with database design and use is a plus.
• Previous experience supporting a user network of at least 400 computers preferably in an OS agnostic environment.
• Experience configuring and maintaining DNS, NIS, LDAP and/or NNTP.
• Experience in scripting environments / languages, Perl, Shell, Python, etc.
• Strong background in configuring and maintaining large, high performance storage systems and fiber channel networking including StorNext, Brocade, DotHill, NetApp
• Proficient in Microsoft Visio and MS Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of Linux, OSX and Windows operating systems.
• Operational familiarity with customary motion picture post production software including Resolve, Mistika, Nuke, Flame, Rio
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, flexibility in concepts and action, able to handle aggressive, mission critical deadlines.
• Excellent team player. Proven ability to resolve problems quickly, professionally and systematically.
• Detailed oriented, highly organized self-starter, able to multi-task without supervision.
• Comprehensive system documentation skills.
• Strong customer service attitude and ability to work in production environment requiring adaptation to ever-changing production challenges.
• Familiarity with the aspects of working in a creative environment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed on an ongoing basis
