OVERVIEW

WeFX  is a boutique VFX studio in Toronto working on high end Film and TV projects. We are seeking a SeniorSystems Administrator to work with our Head of IT to ensure our studio can function and scale effectively. A qualified candidate will be critical in maintaining our studio systems, building and innovating on new capabilities, and working with a growing team of talented IT professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Linux / Unix systems administration (hardware & software) (CentOS 7.8)
• Provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of studio systems (workstations, OS, storage, servers, networking, cloud)
• Technical support and trouble-shooting assistance for users of software (commercial & custom) and workstation hardware
• User account and software license administration & AD server maintenance
• Monitoring of system and performance logs to identify and address issues  
• Working with IT and Pipeline to help automate common IT tasks
• Assisting in building and optimizing render and compute infrastructure
• Developing and monitoring security protocols
• Assisting in backup processes and execution
• Windows & Mac workstation administration
• Research & recommendations for hardware and software improvements
• 5 years of experience with Linux is a must (systems administration, software installation, scripting & deployment)
• Experience with Mac and Windows deployment and integration
• Willing to be flexible in schedule to resolve mission critical time sensitive issues when they arise
• Knowledge of network including VLAN, routing and VPN
• Storage administration experience (Isilon)
• Active Directory (AD) administration experience is a plus
• Experience in VFX or Broadcast TV is a plus
• Experience with remote and cloud platforms like AWS and Teradici is a plus
• Good communication and problem solving skills with a positive attitude
