Under general supervision of the Director of IT, this position is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organizations operating systems and all related systems, software and peripherals.


• Analyzes and resolves issues with hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
• Configures, deploys, and maintains servers, both bare metal and VMs, locally and / or in cloud environments, as required. Assists with the sizing of those servers.
• Assists with the deployment of services running on local or cloud-based servers.
• Ensures the scalability and appropriate integrations with other systems.
• Provides software system support for desktop & server environments primarily in Linux, but occasionally will support Windows and OSX.
• Assists in the installation of network infrastructure equipment including but not limited to cabling plants, communications backbone equipment, and telecommunications hardware.
• Assists in monitoring and troubleshooting of LAN and WAN system performance and resolving communications and networking problems
• Makes recommendations for future hardware or software additions or enhancements in all aspects of the technology infrastructure.


• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux. Knowledge of Windows and OSX is a plus.
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX / Linux based environments.
• Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
• Solid Cloud experience, in either or both of AWS or GCP
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
• Experience with monitoring systems
• Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
