Position Overview

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the overall daily operation and improvement of the studio’s infrastructure and management systems. This includes maintaining and troubleshooting servers, computers, high-performance storage systems and supporting user needs. The System Administrator also provides direct support to staff to ensure task efficiency.

The Systems Administrator reports to and partners with the Director of Technology to support studio’s special projects and initiatives. The Systems Administrator also teams with pipeline staff to collaborate on creative solutions for diagnosed problems.

Applicant must be willing to relocate to Columbus, Ohio (US).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, install, maintain and troubleshoot systems, networking, and applications to support daily and upcoming tasks

  • Monitor systems on daily basis, verifying, reviewing software, hardware, policies and system logs

  • Research, troubleshoot server and workstation issues and responding to user questions

  • Plan, deploy and manage centralized systems to perform software patches, firmware upgrades

  • Monitor and expand physical and digital security systems, intrusion detection systems

  • Plan, maintain and perform regular administration of backup operations

  • Maintain asset tracking system data, managing resource audits and ensuring system functionality

  • Plan and support projects with innovative technological solutions

  • Mentor and train staff on best practice workflows

  • Write and edit automation scripts to increase systems and task efficiency

  • Write and maintain technical documentation on system operations and processes

  • Work with vendors and external consultants

Required Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory (DC, OU, GPO, ADFS, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SSH, SMB, NFS, SFTP, SNMP

  • Strong knowledge of network administration and security concepts and technologies (VLAN’s, ACL, NAT)

  • Strong knowledge of virtualized environments (VMWare)

  • Strong knowledge of deployment and management systems

  • Proficiency scripting in Python, bash, CMD, Powershell

  • Experience managing a high-performance storage network

  • Experience with Visual Effects or Game Development applications

  • Experience with industry technology for asset management, storage and rendering systems

  • Experience working in a Media & Entertainment or related industry environment

  • Academic background in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
