A leading Los Angeles based entertainment services company is seeking a contractor to fill a temp-to-perm position for a role as a studio systems administrator.  We need someone who first and foremost is friendly, communicative, and has a positive attitude towards helping others!


  • 3-5 years experience managing IT infrastructure for Film/VFX/Animation Studios. 
  • Must be familiar with:  Studio infrastructure management – Renderfarms, plugins, pipeplines, and basic workflow. Installation, support escalations, and basic troubleshooting of popular VFX software:

  • Management and Administration of:
    • Servers, routers, switches, firewalls, SAN, phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches, network equipment (switches, routers, etc.), printers/copiers, input devices, phone systems, security system, video monitoring system and other technical equipment
    • Mail servers, Exchange and O365
    • Active Directory management
    • Storage systems
    • Proficiency in managing licensing and application servers 
    • VPN management- including supporting remote users
    • Responsible for Backup and Recovery of servers and configurations
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments and Internet systems
  • Knowledge of off site storage/cloud backups such as: AWS Technologies and/or other cloud software
  • Have an understanding of good security practices: (i.e. MPAA, Disney,ISO 27001)
  • Knowledge of Windows, OSX, Linux
  • Knowledge and comfort using common command line interface
  • Capacity to address a variety of complex problems with clear focus, and concise communication.
  • The ability to work in a team environment with creative and engineering users, as well as other administrators.
  • Multi-tasking with good communication skills; both verbal and written are a must.
  • Perform desktop support duties, set up and support computers running Microsoft Office, OSX, and/or Linux 
  • Familiarity with basic support ticket systems

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Windows (Server 2003-2016, Active Directory, GPO management), VMWare, PowerShell.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic network operations skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Works well under pressure with a positive, can-do outlook
  • Must be adept in working in a fast paced, ever changing environment with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong communication and customer service skills for daily hands-on internal customer support
