Role:

Support and maintain VFX Artists environment; workstations, licensing, and render farm.  Work together with Artists to build a streamlined pipeline to enhance VFX workflow.  We are a facility, not too small and not too large, allowing for us to make changes quickly to continually improve our environment.  Support of Finishing, Color, and Editorial.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Systems installation of Mac, Windows, & Linux.
  • Support VFX workstations, Baselight, Flames, and Render Farms (local and cloud based).
  • Work with outside vendors for support on internal systems, i.e. Autodesk - Flame, Baselight - Color, HVAC, and phones, etc.
  • Support Artists on file prep for CG and Flame pipeline, posting, transcoding and archiving.
  • Help Desk Support for Users (Editorial, VFX, and Operational).
  • Documentation of systems and processes.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong scripting skillset.  Python, Shell.
  • Working knowledge of Puppet.
  • Professional experience in a Systems/IT support position in visual effects, post-production and editing studio environment.
  • Experience in post-production, namely industry-based systems: Flame, Nuke, Maya, After Effects, Houdini, Deadline, Avid, Premiere, etc.
  • Experience with Help Desk Support.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours.
  • Troubleshoot networking issues.
