Position Overview

Research & Development Engineers are responsible for furthering the improvement of our in house digital content creation tools and related technologies. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of computer graphics and advanced programming skills to actively participate in the development and integration of creative tools into an overall production pipeline that is applicable to any type of digitally created content (2D, 3D, hybrid, animation, visual effects, games, mobile development, etc…).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of R&D with the design, development, maintenance and optimization of tools used by the artists in all departments in collaboration with production leadership
  • Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge in relevant fields, proactively researching and investigating new technologies and methodologies
  • Help establish technical standards, including coding standards, tools or platforms
  • Research, design, implement, test, documentation and support tools/scripts/programs/systems for digital content creation pipeline
  • Troubleshoot bugs, including (but not limited to) dynamic library dependency issues
  • Communicate effectively with 3rd party software vendors to debug technical issues


  • At least 7+ years of industry related experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced proficiency in python
  • Advanced proficiency with software version control and best practices
  • Experience with CI/CD software such as Jenkins, TravisCI, Gitlab CI, etc...
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Working knowledge of windows, linux, osx


  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Pyside/PyQt
  • Experience with various forms of testing practices, including regression, acceptance, functional and load testing
  • Experience with elasticsearch, logstash, kibana/grafana
  • Background in statistics/analytics.
