The award-winning Editorial Houses, Whitehouse Post and The Quarry, along with their combined endeavor into VFX & Finishing, Youngster London, are looking for someone to manage their engineering needs in London.

The candidate will be comfortable with working both as part of a larger tech team for Whitehouse Post and have a strong independent work ethic in the support and managing of The Quarry and Youngster London.  You will be required to have a good understanding of the post-production finishing process, from ingest through to deliverables, with the experience to be able to find flaws and offer improvements.  They should also be capable of communicating technical solutions to non-technical persons and keep cool under pressure.

•  Experience working in a post-production or similar environment.

•  Working knowledge of OSX, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS), and Windows.

•  Troubleshoot, maintain, and image a multi-platform environment, which includes:  Avid Media                

   Composer, Premiere Pro, Avid ISIS systems, VFX, Flame, and Baselight systems.

•  Knowledge and management of a ‘best practices’ finishing workflow: ingest, deliverables, and specs.

•  Ability to effectively communicate with all users effectively from Admins, Assists, Producers to Artists / Editors.

•  Proficiency with scripting (bash, python).

•  Ability to think quickly and adapt to evolving circumstances.



•  Supporting a multi-platform and multi-company environment, including both off-line, finishing, vfx, and color.

•  Supporting a multi-OS environment with both Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS) and Mac OSX.

•  Maintaining back-end systems, including but not limited to: shared storage, LTO archives, FTP Servers, and Transcode servers, etc.

•  Help desk support (via ticketing system).

•  Account and service management for cross company services (support, purchases etc.)
