We are in need of a junior engineer to join our team in Santa Monica! We produce award winning visual effects - our London and LA based studios encompass a wealth of talent across all disciplines of visual creativity, CGI, 2D, animation and color grading. Over the last 6 years we have grown from a team of four into an innovative collective of artists, makers and agitators, celebrating technology and diversity, empowered by industry-leading software.


The Role

This is a newly created position within a rapidly expanding and very successful vfx/post facility. We are looking for a highly motivated, organized and methodical Systems Support Engineer to support our 2d, 3d and color grading systems with the aim of providing a stable and fully functioning production environment. The role also requires the support of the back-end servers, network and general IT infrastructure along with our transcoding and delivery systems.



  • Support, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • General day to day support of all aspects of the technical infrastructure at Electric Theatre Collective
  • Install and test new equipment and workflows
  • Roll out software updates and fixes
  • Work with the Head of Engineering to devise new and improved methods of working and implementing the latest technologies
  • Communicate with producers, clients and operators to understand and fulfil their technical requirements.
  • Build workstations and help move equipment around as needs require



  • Qualified degree or higher standard in Computing/Systems/Engineering subject, you will have knowledge of Linux, OSX and Windows administration
  • DNS, firewall and network administration
  • Working knowledge of post production processes and services
  • Previous experience of Autodesk systems highly desirable but not essential as training will be given
  • General can-do approach to new responsibilities, task and requests.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Form working relationships with producers, operators and non technical staff


Salary will be commensurate with experience.
