We are looking for a pro-active and enthusiastic, super-organized Pipeline Developer to join our busy London Studio.

Automation and process are key to driving forward our creative campaigns and delivering at the highest quality and consistency. This role is pivotal in supporting and developing our internal Pipeline tools and Processes.

You will need to be proactive and methodical in your approach to developing and supporting tools, and an analytical thinker who can give solutions and options to resolve issues and improve the pipeline.

You will be involved in the planning and execution of a wide range of projects, collaborating with our New York, LA, and Berlin offices, and working with our inhouse Pipeline Developer in New York.

As a Pipeline Developer organization and attention to detail are key, you will need to be able to prioritize incidents & issues alongside project and development work.  

While this is predominantly an internal facing role you will need accurate communication as you will be dealing with all levels of staff, you will also be required on occasions to communicate with suppliers & external parties.

The ideal candidate should have a solid knowledge and understanding of production and post-production pipelines, workflows, processes, terminologies and industry conventions, they should be familiar with many of the tools used within these areas.

Although you will mainly be based in the London Studio, there may be requirements to travel to other office locations as we expand those studios to develop the pipeline and tools.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and develop the TJ tools codebase working alongside the other members of staff to fill in gaps and evolve our documentation of the tools we provide to both staff and freelancers

reating tools and automation that develop our direct to brand offerings for automotive, product and volume work. Where possible, improving our own IP internally which has commercial potential.

Refactoring of Hydragen pipeline tools in collaboration with our US based Pipeline TD.

On a daily basis you will find yourself maintaining Sphinx, Github and Jira repositories to ensure accurate documentation of TJ code and accessibility across the business

Heavily improving interoperability across all our core packages developing plugins, connectors and abstraction layers that enable us to communicate fluidly across software.

Champion the TJ pipeline and methodology across the business to both freelancers and staff alike



Advanced knowledge of programming in Python & C/C++

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Experience with Windows/Mac/LINUX application development

Ability to design and implement systems from concept to completion with a proven track record of projects which have been delivered to a similar scope.

Knowledge of node based systems development and frameworks.

Knowledge of UI design and standard UI toolkits, specifically QT/PyQT.

Practical knowledge of test driven development & Unit Testing

Knowledge of Maxscript and Mel a must.

Knowledge of a CGI or VFX pipeline across print, digital and TVC content production.

Knowledge of computer graphics concepts and plugin development for DCC platforms.

Knowledge of file formats and data representations used in Animation and Visual Effects.

Knowledge of Jira or a repository based approach to development.

3+ years of professional experience in Maya/3DS Max in at least one of the following industry areas; VFX and Animation for Film and Broadcast, Computer Games, Product and Architectural Visualization

Experienced in the following software tools; 3DSMax, Maya, XSI, Z-Brush, Mudbox, Cinema4D, Houdini, Motion Builder, VRay, Character Studio, After Effects, Nuke, PFTrack, 3D Equalizer, RealFlow, Flash, Thinkbox, Thinking Particles

An excellent understanding of the full CGI pipeline and where subject specialisms fit in 

Enthusiastic can-do attitude, team oriented.

Strong desire and ability to learn and apply new knowledge and techniques

Deep interest in visual effects, film and CGI production industry

Strong ability to prioritise tasks and time-management skills

An independent problem solver with an eye for detail

Ability to work as part of a team or independently, and good communication skills is a must
