Reporting to the IT Manager (Toronto), the Help Desk Administrator will provide technical assistance and support for incoming help desk tickets and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •   Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems related to operating systems, hardware and software in a timely and courteous manor
  •   Installing new software releases, system upgrades
  •   Provide first line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems via the IT helpdesk
  •   Ensure that Helpdesk SLA are met and communicated to end user base.
  •   Repair/recovery of end user hardware and software
  •   Escalation of helpdesk ticket to 2nd level when required
  •   Manage helpdesk tickets and weekly reporting on helpdesk tickets
  •   Escalation of all unresolved issues to System Administrator or IT Manager
  •   Anti-virus administration
  •   End user account administration
  •   Hardware inventory, asset tracking and monitoring
  •   Liaise with vendors
  •   Software release management under supervision of senior administrators
  •   Expertise in Microsoft OS systems – Windows 7 and Windows 10
  •   Experienced in high-level  hardware support (client machines, printers etc)
  •   Experience in supporting a complex  and advanced user base
  •   Ability to work in a  challenging and fast paced environment
  •   Recognizes the importance of clear and timely communication of all high severity IT or facilities impacting issues to the IT manager
  •   Keeps abreast of emerging technologies.
  •   Excellent verbal and written communication.
  •   Excellent customer service skills.
  •   Works well within a team
  •   Perform routing technology tasks under supervision of senior technology staff
  •   Act as front line interface to users, accepting trouble reports and dispatching them to appropriate systems administrator

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  •   2+ years’ experience in IT or similar experience
  •   Education and/or experience in networking and systems administration
  •   Knowledge of Ms Office, Microsoft Windows server 2008/2012, Microsoft Windows 7, Fedora, Debian
  •   Has knowledge and is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  •   Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  •   Strong inter personal skills; ability to explain simple procedures in writing or verbally; good phone skills
  •   Strong ability to learn; ability to follow instructions well; strong analytical skills
  •   A love of Technology is advantageous.
  •   Ability to work flexible hours if necessary.
  •   Ability to work under pressure with tight deadline
  •   Detail oriented and takes initiative
  •   MCSE /MCP desirable
  •   Apple Mac hardware and software support
