Junior Systems Administrator: contract, London, immediate start.

 

Atomic Arts, founded in 1991 has in the last decade broken into the high end visual effects production for film and television. Atomic’s new director Clwyd Edwards, developed MPC’s bespoke and admired VFX pipeline while Global Head of MPC. We are now looking for a junior full time Systems Administrator with a potential view to pipeline development later. This position will be full time and based in London, Goodge Street.

 

Technical experience and requirements:

  • Good understanding of computer systems (hardware and software), networks, in windows, linux is essential.

  • 1 year experience in VFX, Gaming, or similar development environment.

  • Corporate software and hardware systems, including: Email, Document creation.

  • Systems programming skills in Python or C++ (ideal)

  • Comprehensive system documentation skills.

  • You are fluent in English and hold an existing EU Work Permit.

 

Any complimentary/secondary experiences in the following is helpfull but not essential:

  • Familiarity with common VFX applications (Nuke, 3DMax, Maya, Houdini, Adobe Software, Rendering software, Shotgun) and their APIs would be ideal.

  • Understanding of file formats, naming conventions, versioning, technical specifications for film, LUTs, and other technical aspects of the VFX workflow would be helpful.

  • Network experience with Apple Mac integration with Linux and windows.

     

 

ROLE

  • This position will provide technical support for all of the Company's production software and hardware systems: servers, artists workstations, dailies playback systems, video conferencing tools this role is overseen by a senior sys admin.

  • Responsible for software installations

  • User admins

  • Provide storage and back-ups and maintenance solutions.

  • Helping to document: pipeline workflows, infrastructure, assets, applications and licenses, IT costs.

  • Provide technical support to all Atomic staff and freelancers.

    Working with and being able to communicate regularly with a Senior technical support team in our studio in Mumbai

    Some out of hours support will be required and some systems maintenance will happen out of hours as Production schedules dictate but this will not be usual.
