Framestore's Integrated Advertising division in London is searching for a Junior Pipeline Technical Director, who will work with the global pipeline and nuke team to provide pipeline and data management support for Framestore's Integrated Advertising division.

This role would suit someone who comes from a compositing background and is interested in specialising in pipeline, or a developer who has a particular interest in compositing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and maintain tools for our visual effects pipeline, with a particular focus on the Nuke pipeline

  • Train and support Nuke artists in using pipeline tools

  • Work with a globally-managed pipeline development team

  • Work in a diverse international visual effects studio environment

  • Assist with monitoring of disk space and rendering resource usage

  • Conduct ongoing research and recommend workflows that will improve efficiency

Essential Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work to both long and short deadlines

  • Ability to prioritize production tasks in a frequently-changing environment

  • Detail oriented with a strong ability to multitask

  • Good understanding of the entire visual effects process, from shooting to modeling and texturing, animation, rendering and compositing

  • General understanding of networking and performance issues that arise with automated tools

  • Programming experience in Python

  • Experience on UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience developing for applications such as Nuke

  • Experience developing software for a 3D application such as Maya or Houdini

  • Experience with Git or another DVCS

  • Experience with Shotgun or another production database

  • Experience with the Qt application framework

  • Experience with C, C++, MEL, Bourne and C shell

  • Visual effects production experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
