Post-Production Systems Admin

We are a commercial post-production house, located in Chicago, providing our clients with an excellent creative process from ingest, to editorial, vfx and then off to finish.  We continually work on improving and refining our creative and post pipeline, which includes a very talented award winning team of creatives, producers, and engineers.

 

The Post-Production Systems Admin will have the technical knowledge and experience to be 'hands-on' and 'think out of the box' when problem solving.  Key attributes for this position are to be proactive, responsive, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines.  

 

Environment consists of:  mac, pc, linux, efx, premiere, and avid.

                                                                       

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support / Maintain shared storage, renderfarms, LTO tape library, and virtual servers, to mention some, but not all.
  • Design and maintain VFX environment and pipeline - Flame, Adobe, Nuke, Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, C4D, Vray, and Deadline, etc.
  • Maintain editorial workflows - Resolve, FCP, Premiere, and Avid.
  • Respond to user requests and issues related to media management, file-based workflows, delivery and/or system issues.
  • Help Desk Support for users. (Ticketing System)
  • Maintain facilities infrastructure; Telephones, HVAC, Security
  • Documentation.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Worked / working in a ‘like’ Post-Production environment.
  • Proficient experience with Mac OS, Linux, and Windows.
  • Ability to build, image, and successfully troubleshoot virtual environments, workstations, NAS storage, render farms, and servers.
  • VFX support experience:  Maya, Autodesk Flame, Adobe, DaVinci Resolve, Nuke, Shotgun, and Deadline Queue Manager.
  • Scripting Python and Bash.
  • Working knowledge of AD, networking, firewalls, switches, along with, high availability computing systems and render-farms.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical people face to face or via email.
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new technology.
