So I went to three studios this week in the evening hours. Two use Rush and a third Sun Grid.
It seems that the following has fixed the general problems with "batch" vs. "standalone/satellite".

Please can someone confirm this:

1. Maya2010 and Maya2011 and Max2010 and Max2011 have packaged Mentalray such that 5 FREE "batch" comes with the per machine licensing.

2. No one really uses Standalone/Satellite anymore. Everyone seems to be perfectly fine with "Batch".

3. Because of this above, many folks are having problems with a queueing system set up to submit jobs to an 6 or even 16 core machine on a per CPU basis. Meaning if you did submit 8 jobs to an 8x Core machine as batch, you would only see 5/8 pick up and the other three would cause the whole job to error out wildly.

Please confirm.....
