Postfix Split Domain Routing Questions

Postfix Split Domain Routing QuestionsAll,

I am in the process of building a new mail server to replace the setup we are currently using ( Postfix / MySQL / Courier / Squirrelmail ).  I would like to route mail for a few users over to the new server at a time, and wanted to know if anyone has configured Postfix to route several addresses within a domain to a new server without having to re-route the entire domain?  Any thoughts on what might be the best way to go about this? There was an email string in early December describing a move from IMAP on postfix to Exchange by allowing the users to drag and drop mail from a secondary IMAP server to the new exchange server, and I am looking to do something along these lines but from Postfix/Courier to Postfix/Cyrus on a new server. Any help in the right direction is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Postfix Split Domain Routing Questions

For moving mail from one imap server to another try imapsync: http://freshmeat.net/projects/imapsync/

If you want to move users one at a time perdition (http://www.vergenet.net/linux/perdition/) can be super handy. It's an imap proxy. With a bit of care you might be able to avoid anyone having to reconfigure their mail client.

Delivering mail to different hosts for different users is pretty easy with postfix transports. Take a look at 'man 5 transports'.

Cheers, Tim

Re: Postfix Split Domain Routing Questions

Transports maps is a good way to route mail from one server to another..

For syncing mail from the old server mailbox's to the new one you can use imapsync
